PURPOSE

Coming off of the heels of another great Inspire Photo Retreats, I’ve been thinking a lot about PURPOSE.

What is your purpose? What drives you? Why do you do what you do? PURPOSE. by Krista Guenin. © 2016 Krista Photography - www.kristaphoto.com

The last two years have been a bit rough, to be honest.  Bringing CoCo on as an Associate has been SO AWESOME in so many ways, but it’s also brought a lot of challenges along with it.  I’ve found myself bogged down in the work of editing, and running the studio and never feeling like there was enough time to do all of the things I know I SHOULD do… like SHOOT more, train my employees to take over more, wrap up our re-branding project, blogging, networking, budgeting, strategizing, planning and dreaming.  Not to mention spending time with friends & family, and leaving my house once in a while!  Running my own business is often totally overwhelming, and it’s really easy to forget WHY I’m doing all of this.  So, now that I’m finished editing our 2015 work, and I’m officially in the “off-season”, I’m trying to get back to the point.

What is my purpose? WHY does Krista Photography exist?

I can so relate to this Krista! These are my thoughts, but maybe several years down the road as I’m only 4 years into shooting weddings and it’s my first doing it “full-time”. “Documenting the work of God all over the world…” Yes!He IS LOVE, so I feel like when I am capturing love, I’m capturing Him, God’s character and likeness in people. It’s rather incredible!
Before I delved into wedding photography, before I got married, I’ve worked with orphans in Moldova and Russia, two life-changing extended trips. I’m married and with kids now, so it’s not exactly easy to pick up and do something similar anymore, but I do want to bless people here locally that otherwise cannot afford professional photography, to tell their stories.

Krista!!!! YES! :) This is powerFULL. Oozing with wisdom, courage, invitation and LOVE. xoxoxoxoxo! -SDT

Liz & Nick’s wedding at the Mountain Top Inn in Vermont was all sunshine, blue skies, laughter, and 90s rap music!  So, it was basically perfect!

Elizabeth + Nicholas — Gloucester Engagement Session

Liz & Nick live out in San Fran, they got married in Vermont, and we shot their engagement session in Gloucester… obviously!  It was so fun getting to know these two a bit as we hung out at Good Harbor Beach and then at the gorgeous home of a friend.  Check out my faves from our time together!

Thrisha + Donaldo’s Carnival-Themed Photo Booth

The bride in bright feathered props

Thrisha & Donaldo’s wedding was obviously FABULOUS, but you wouldn’t believe the fun we had in their Photo Booth!!  Pamela was running our Photo Booth that night, but I just had to pop in a shoot a bit because it was so much fun!  Thrisha participates in Carnival, like on the regular, so her friends at Amazing Carnival Experience brought some gorgeous pieces for everyone to wear, and it was epic!

Thrisha + Donaldo — Endicott Estate Wedding – xo, CoCo

If this Endicott Estate wedding wasn’t the definition of amazing then I don’t know what is. From the insanely fun bridal party, to the STUNNING bride, to the emotions and some of the biggest smiles I’ve ever seen this day was wonderful start to finish. The best part is, not only was this day gorgeous, and the details and timeline planned out perfectly, Thrisha and Donaldo eventually forgot all about it and just had FUN. SO much fun. They danced, they cried, they were perfectly themselves, just a little more dressed up than normal ;)

I mean, can you even get enough of those shoes?! That dress?! That smile?! This girl has got it to-geth-er. I DARE you to look at these two and not smile, DARE YOU! Thrisha, Donaldo and I walked around the in the city for their Boston Seaport Engagement session, chasing some gorgeous light and had a really fun time together. They have an ease about them that made this evening particularly fun for me; no matter where I put them they looked great and felt great together, can’t get much better than that!
