Angie & Matt’s eSession – Boston, MA

Angie & Matt were in town a couple weeks ago for a weekend of wedding planning excitement, so we met up downtown for their engagement session. We had no idea if it was going to pour down rain or not, but we took a chance and it ended up being a great (and HOT) afternoon!

We started off at the Boston Harbor Hotel under the archway…

They’re pretty cute

A gnarly iron bridge seems like a perfect place for photos, if you ask me!

We hopped a cab over to Beacon Hill for a little more of a classic Boston feel

And then it started to rain, so we ducked into a little cafe. A crowded cafe with no air conditioning, I might add.

Then the rain stopped… it IS Boston after all. So we walked towards the river and found all sorts of great spots along the way!

This might be my favorite…

Turns out these two met at a sailing class here on the Charles River! We had to go revisit the scene :)

Angie & Matt – it was so great to finally meet you two! Thanks for a fun afternoon and for putting up with all the heat and rain to get some great photos. The wedding is going to be a blast, I’m totally looking forward to it! :)

Jared’s Bar Mitzvah

A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to take some portraits for Jared and his family in honor his Bar Mitzvah. Here are a few of my favorites!

I always like photos of kids doing what they love, for Jared that’d be basketball…

And he is learning to play the guitar! He plays a mean Stairway to Heaven :)

It’s great when I can photograph a rehearsal since usually I’m not allowed to photograph during the ceremony. Besides, I can get much closer this way!

They had a bunch of family over as well, but this guy was my favorite! I’m such a sucker for a cute little grandpa! And he was so honored that I’d asked to take his portrait, how could I not include him in the post?!

Portrait Days

To celebrate the launch of my new portraits website, I’m planning to host a few Portrait Days in July. I’ll be traveling back and forth between Boston and Indianapolis with my family next month, so we’ll have Portrait Days in a number of cities along the way!

Portrait Days will include consecutive mini portrait sessions at a set location on a specified day (see schedule below). All sessions will be about 45 minutes long and may include any number of people. Sessions are only $150 (plus tax for MA residents) and will include all images posted online for proofing. There are a limited number of sessions per day, so please call or email to schedule your session today! For cities where a location has not yet been determined, the first person to sign up will get to help decide :)

Krista Photography Portraits site is LIVE!

Oh boy, I’ve been waiting for this post for MONTHS! I’ve been working hard to collect and edit down my favorite portrait photos to fill the galleries of my BRAND NEW portraits website! And now, I proudly introduce you to www.kristaphotoportraits.com!

Rhetta & Bill’s growing family

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you might remember Rhetta & Bill. I shot Rhetta & Bill’s wedding in Chicago almost exactly 6 years ago when I was working as an Associate for Real Life Weddings. They moved to Boston, and then a few years later I moved to Boston, and now this is my third time photographing their growing family! I hadn’t seen them since Rhetta was pregnant with little Sophie, so it was extra fun to meet her and see how big Hannah has gotten!

We met up at the Arnold Arboretum and went for a little walk…

We even managed to capture a portrait or two of Rhetta & Bill without the girls – well, they’re there, you just can’t see them ;)

We had a fun morning! We found lady bugs and everything :)

Rhetta & Bill – thank you so much for a fun morning with your family! Hannah and Sophie are so darling, and I’m still laughing over Hannah’s “hey, Krista, can you give me a minute?!” haha! It really is a pleasure and an honor to have been documenting your family for the last 6 years!!

Featured Weddings

In the last few weeks it’s been very fun and pretty exciting to see a bunch of my weddings featured on some awesome wedding blogs!

Elena & Dan’s wedding was featured on Beantown Bride this week. Beantown Bride is a great new site for local Boston Brides, I’m excited to be a part of it!

Megan & Mike’s wedding was featured on WeddingWire. Coincidentally, I saw all three of Megan’s bridesmaids that week! So fun!
