Nikki’s Senior Photos – Beverly MA

Up until this summer, I’d never shot Senior Photos. It just never seemed to come up, and I wasn’t really putting any energy into trying to get those gigs. So, when one of the girls from my church asked if I could shoot her Senior Portraits, I was totally excited to try something new! Nikki’s a sweet girl, and I knew it would be a fun time hanging out with her – plus she’s totally photogenic and made it easy for me ;) So we headed up to Lynch Park in Beverly to shoot for the afternoon and had a great time!

Check out those green eyes of hers! Woah!

She’s so cute :)

This building with it’s chipping paint is my favorite thing about Lynch Park. I was kinda sad to see that they were starting to repaint it!!

This is what would happen when I’d tell her to give me a “serious face” … hahaha!

Baby Delia’s Year-in-the-Life: 8 Months

A couple months ago I set out to photograph baby Delia for her 6-month session in her Year-in-the-Life portraits, but she wasn’t feeling well and cried most of the time :( So, we waited a few weeks and tried again. This time she was feeling much better and enjoyed the shoot a little more, thank goodness!

Even though she was feeling better, she still wasn’t interested in smiling for the camera. She was MUCH more interested in this leaf!

My first Red Sox Game!

One of my best friends was just in town for a few days for a family reunion that I got to photograph. Later that week they all headed down to Boston for a Red Sox – Indians game and invited me along. I’d never been to a Red Sox game and never been to Fenway, so I was pretty excited to go! When we were younger, Marietta got me into the Braves and I followed them for years… until they traded David Justice to the Indians and I decided it just wasn’t worth caring about a team if the owners were just going to split them up! I mean, jeez! (Clearly, I’m more of a people person than a team person) So, I’m not really a fan of any sports team anymore – though I always root for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and occasionally the Colts. But I’m fascinated by sports fans and am always up for people-watching at a game & hanging out with friends :)

Austin got a little sleepy on the walk to the park. You’ll notice he & his Daddy are Indians fans. That’ll happen when you’re from Ohio…

The only part of the game that I even remember was this huge fight that broke out when the Indians pitcher hit a guy with the ball, like for the 3rd time…

Family Reunion Portraits – New Hampshire

I hardly ever get to see my oldest & dearest friend Marietta, who lives in Ohio, but this year I’ve gotten to see her a ton!! I went home a couple of times and got to see her and her new baby. Then a few weeks ago she & her family came to New England for a family reunion! They don’t get the whole clan together very often, so they asked me to come up and take some photographs. A fun portrait shoot, plus I get to see my Marietta and baby Austin?! Fabulous :)

Marietta – I love you! I am so thankful that you’ve been part of my life for over 25 years! (wow, we’re getting old…) And thanks for bringing me up and letting me crash the reunion. Your family is, of course, awesome! Hopefully we can keep finding more and more excuses to see each other this year :) Hug & kiss that baby for me!!!

Mary & Gerard’s Wedding – The Details

Well, if you thought Mary & Gerard were be beautiful, wait until you see how they designed & decorated their wedding! Everything about the day was clean, classy, and simply stunning!

Mary’s Romona Keveza dress from Kleinfeld’s was breathtaking! It really was the perfect dress for her, and for the day!

Mary & Gerard’s Wedding at the State Room

Mary & Gerard couldn’t have gotten married on a more beautiful summer day! The whole day was lovely, and the party was a blast! This marriage joined Greek & Lebanese families – and let me tell you, these guys know how to party! It was a blessing to witness the merging of hearts, lives, families and cultures. And dancing the night away with them was definitely an added bonus :)

We started the day at Mary’s parents’ home, where Mary and her family were getting ready

Meanwhile, a few blocks away my second shooter Nicki Pardo was hanging out with Gerard and his family. It’s always a little bit more comical with the guys ;)

Greek Orthodox weddings have such cool traditions! Here the Bride & Groom are crowned with crowns held together by a white ribbon symbolizing glory and unity, and then they circle the altar three times as a demonstration of how that are to keep the Gospel and the Cross at the center of their path.

Then after the ceremony, the run outside and get pelted with rice by their guests! Haha!

On our way to the State Room, Mary asked the limo driver to pull over by The Charles River so we could shoot a few portraits. I’m SO glad she did!!

And then the Greek dancing began!! LOVE it!

On top of the Greek band, they brought in a DJ to play Arabic & American music. Talk about a fun mix of cultures and music, and a kickin’ dance floor!
