The G Family

extended family portraits near their home in winchester, ma

Krista spent some time with this lovely family while all of the “kids” were in town over the summer.  Patty and Dan are one of the nicest couples you’ll ever meet, and they’ve raised some pretty amazing children!

After their family session, Krista was able to spend some time with Melissa creating senior portraits.  And once again, there was so much laughter!

Lindsey’s Maternity Portraits

My dear friend Lindsey just had a baby the other day – her first child, a son named Jude!  He’s so precious and I’ll definitely be sharing many photos of him in the coming weeks, and months, and years, I’m sure :)  But before we get there, we have to go back a few weeks to when there were still leaves on the tress and pumpkins laying around – and little Jude was still a mysterious baby growing inside Lindsey’s belly!  I spent a morning with David & Lindsey capturing the last portraits of the two of them before their family officially became three!

There’s nothing quite as amazing to me as a pregnant belly!  There was a tiny little human growing in there – that’s pretty incredible!

Abigail & Sarah Beth

A few weeks ago, I spent the morning with my friends Jonathan & Diana and their adorable girls, Abigail and Sarah Beth.  We went to the park for some family photos and had a fun time on the playground, running in the field, and chasing frogs & butterflies!  Here are a few of my favorites from our morning…

Sarah & Peter’s Wedding – Winchester, MA

Sarah & Peter were married this summer on a wicked hot day.  Now that it’s getting cold outside, it’s hard to even imagine just how hot we were that day!

The day started out at Sarah’s family home in Lexington.  As soon as I walked in, I noticed the gorgeous daisies on the counter.  The bright red and the little touches of blue were just beautiful!

Sarah took a moment to read through the scripture for the ceremony.

The ceremony was held at First Baptist Church in Winchester.  Sarah & her Dad shared a moment before heading down the aisle.

Both Sarah & Peter’s families are very musical.  Their friends and siblings participated in the ceremony by singing and playing instruments.  It was a beautiful time of worship – so special and personal.  Even with sweat dripping down my face in the un-air conditioned church, I loved it ;)

After the ceremony, we went across the street to Mill Pond for a few minutes alone with the happy couple

After some portraits, we headed back across the road to Hope Christian Church for the reception.  Hope recently planted my church, GENESIS in Woburn.  Sarah’s Dad is an elder at Hope, and I’ve known their family since before I moved to Boston.  It was fun to be so familiar with the surroundings, and the guests, and to feel like such a part of the family at this wedding.

Father of the Bride's Toast

The reception was early in the day, so instead of dancing they had a lot of great toasts and games and fun throughout the afternoon.  Peter’s brother gave a tear-jerking toast.

They had bowls full of personalized M&M‘s out, and I just had to play a little bit!

After a fun afternoon, these two literally ran out the door and off to their new life together!  Elizabeth was able to capture this great shot as they ran through the bubbles.

Sarah & Peter – it was so great to be a part of your wedding day!  I hope you’re settling in to your new life in England, and enjoying married life!

Get Drenched – Summer 2008

This summer, my church, GENESIS, had another baptism service. This time we headed out to Sandy Beach in Winchester and witnessed four of our friends proclaim their love and devotion to Jesus. It was incredibly moving and beautiful to witness.

The weather was awful that weekend – scattered thunderstorms the whole day. But we pressed ahead and the clouds opened up long enough for us to have our service.

Praying before they shared their testimonies.

My dear friend Suzanne totally had me in tears

I love the look of joy on her face here

I love this reaction!

But the moment when Ashley’s husband, Scott hugged her afterward was the most powerful moment for me. I just love the way he’s holding her and the way she’s leaning in to him. It just screams love to me.

Right at the end of the service, this bird flew overhead and reminded me of a verse from the book of Mark. It says, “As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: ‘You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.’” It just reminded me of how pleased God was that day.

And this is just a random shot of my adorable nephew watching everything from the beach. He’s so cute :)

And here’s a slideshow of the service, if you’d like to see more!

Anne & Bennet’s Family Portraits

I met Anne a few weeks ago at Town Day. She was very sweet and so encouraging about my move into the Woburn/Winchester area. AND, she ended up calling the next week and scheduled a portrait session for her Dad’s 75th birthday!

So, on his birthday, Anne and the fam met me on Sandy’s Island in Winchester for some pre-dinner portraits. They were great and we had lots of fun! It was such a pleasure getting to know them. Here are a few of the photos…

Here’s the whole fam…

Pretty cute, huh?

Anne’s son was such a joker!!

Anne’s daughter was beautiful, a total natural in front of the camera.

And her sister is an author, so who knows, we may be seeing this on the back of a book later this year!

Thanks again Anne (and family) for a great shoot! Your photos will all be online soon… :)

Town Day was wicked awesome!

Ok, even though I’m not actually from Boston, the word “wicked” has worked it’s way into my vocabulary – much to the chagrin of my Chicago friends. Sorry guys! :) But, that’s exactly what Town Day was last weekend – awesome!

here’s my lovely booth (I tried to make it feel as much like home as possible):

And, this is my view of Town Day. I wish I could have walked around and checked out more of the vendors, but duty called…

I was up late every night the week prior, trying to get ready, and my roommates were right there with me being so incredibly helpful. Here they are – aren’t they cute (and working hard)? ;)

In the end, I had worried way too much because things went really well. My booth was right next to my church, Hope Christian Church, so I had friendly faces around all day – which is always good. And, I met a ton of people, which is really good! I raffled off a free portrait sitting, which got a lot of people interested, and I’ve even had a couple people contact me already to book a shoot.

The lucky winner of my raffle is…. Kathy Robinson of Winchester – who, as it turns out, was my sister’s neighbor a couple years ago! Crazy small world! I’m totally looking forward to Kathy’s shoot, so I hope she calls soon to book the date!

Thanks to everyone who helped me get ready for and pull off Town Day – it was a great day and I’m already looking forward to next year!
