I met Rebecca over six years ago, when she was a bridesmaid in her sister, Elizabeth’s wedding. I liked her right away because she was the youngest (just like me) and she seemed to be the most sentimental and definitely the most likely to cry of the three sisters (just like me). I saw her a few times over the years as I continued to photograph their family out in Michigan, and here in Boston. So, when I got her email telling me she’d gotten engaged, I was so thrilled she wanted me to shoot the wedding, but I was also really excited to see the family again, and to witness Rebecca marry the man she loves!! There really is something special about working with the same family again and again over the years! Take a look at my favorites from their beautiful wedding day…
Liz + Dylan — Reid Castle Wedding – xo, CoCo
Liz and Dylan were faves from the start. Their sense of humor, all-together cuteness, absolute adoration of each other, not to mention their hilarious families and especially Dylan’s dad’s mustache, made their wedding day one of the BEST days. Ever. No seriously. Go ahead, see for yourself.
I started with Liz as she got ready in the bridal suite at Reid Castle, on the campus of Manhattanville College. This place was so cool! So many beautiful and interesting indoor spaces, with gorgeous light inside and out!
Krista was my second shooter for the day, (Dream team!), she started with Dylan and this cute guy next door.
Oh hello there Mr. Dapper!
The lawn had our FAVORITE Weeping Beech trees, good spot for a First Look don’t you think? Love this from Krista.
Can’t even handle these two!
Krista brought along a couple film cameras to play with, she shot this with her Nikon f100 camera, on Kodak Tri-x 400 35mm film.
Also from Krista, isn’t that lace to die for?!
Light, giggles, snuggles, everything.
From Krista, I mean they didn’t stop laughing!
Krista shot this with a Holga toy camera on Kodak Tri-x 400 120mm film.
Krista grabbed this as well.
I mean we had to show the castle right?!
Time for the ceremony! Liz and her dad were so sweet!
Krista snuck around the side to grab this, can you just feel how excited she is?!
Krista also ran upstairs to grab this, so pretty!
I stayed on the ground during the festivities at the reception while Krista shot from above, so fun right?
Their brother and sister made use of basically everyone in the room for their toasts, it was so fun, emotional and personal.
Then this happened, complete with “I’ve Had the Time of my Liiiiiife!” perfectly cued up. So good.
After the festivities, we took another few moments to shoot in this gorgeous space! These two were so generous with their time, and of course SO FUN to photograph.
Krista set this up, just LOVE it.
One more from Krista, how romantic are those candles??
Haha! Phone for you!
At their request we got everyone in the room on the dance floor for a group picture from the balcony. Love these guys!
These two just had to get a dance in while everyone was still at their tables.
Then it was party time!
And as a send off they killed it up on stage.
I can’t even say enough about these two! Thank you Liz & Dylan for trusting us with your memories, for cracking us up all day, for loving your day and everything it brought. We love you guys! Check out more on Facebook y’all and just WAIT for their details post full of autumnal color and that charming diy touch.
Melanie + Ian — Wayside Inn Wedding – xo, CoCo
Oh Melanie and Ian! What a wonderfully relaxed and love-filled wedding day you had. As you saw from their engagement, these two are not only absolutely adorable but they are straight up head over heels in love with each other! It was amazing to witness, and I was honored to hang out with them and their wonderfully supportive families all day at the Wayside Inn. Ian’s adoring family was obviously very proud of him and Melanie’s amazing French Canadian family was cracking me up all day! I’ll hang with them any time!
