Photographers Photographing Photographers, part three

After feeling all awkward about being photographed at the Headshot Shootout, and not having seen the great results yet, I thought it’d be good to have someone I KNOW I’m comfortable being photographed by take a stab at getting a new headshot. For me, that person is obviously CoCo! She was planning on swinging by the office that week anyway, so I figured we might as well photograph each other and both get some pics that are a good match to our typical style. I mean, I LOVE the images my friends captured – but anything CoCo shoots is definitely going to look more like it belongs on our website since she’s all over the site already. That, plus I tend to prefer more environmental portraits, and my normally curly hair just feels more like me. And now I have one million photos of myself to choose from – so that’s enough to last another seven years I think! Anyway, check out my favorite portraits I made of CoCo first…

Maura and Scott had THE most gorgeous day up in New Hampshire! We had the run of the place at Saint Anselm College, where these two lovebirds met back in the day, so it held special significance.

Better late than never…

Well, where do I start? First of all, Hi! I’m CoCo, Krista Photography’s first ever Associate Photographer! Woohoo! That’s me – ain’t I creepy!?

In addition to fetching the occasional Chai Latte, designing albums, keeping in touch with clients and *trying* to run the show while Krista has been out of town, my cohort Amy and I have come up with a plan…. That’s her down there, isn’t she cute??

Anyways, THE PLAN. The better late than never plan to blog the 23, that’s right t-w-e-n-t-y t-h-r-e-e beautiful couples that we have neglected over I’m not even going to say how much time. It’s not that we don’t love you!! We do! Promise! And these weddings and people are so pretty and lovely and awesome! Regardless of when they were shot. But you know how these things go, you get “a little” behind, then that becomes “a lot” behind then that becomes “A LOT” behind. We are not proud of this… BUT we have a plan! So here’s the deal:

EVERY week, for TWENTY THREE weeks, I, with the help of Amy, will be posting about a new couple: showcasing their engagement, wedding, and details for your viewing pleasure. So keep checking back with us on Monday Wednesday and Friday for some absolutely beautiful pictures! Or maybe just to make sure I’m still doing my job ;)

And remember it’s better late than never, pay no attention to the date or season… just focus on the LOVE. And wish us luck!

And now, introducing our first Associate Photographer!!

If you haven’t noticed by now, I have the best Assistant EVER! CoCo Boardman has been working for me for almost exactly two years. Before moving to Boston, she worked all over the country as a news photographer, and even worked as an Assistant at Real Life Weddings, where I got my start in photography. So, she basically came to me already knowing a lot about how I work because she was trained by the woman who I trained… sounded good to me! And she’s been even better than I expected. She’s so good at assisting me at weddings, that I barely remember how I ever did it without her! She reads my mind and stays so on top of the ball, I can’t tell you how helpful she is! She’s become not just my office assistant, but Studio Manager, photo editor, album designer, sounding board, and perspective generator. And add to that, she’s a fabulous photographer and she adds so much to every wedding she assists and second shoots! See… she’s pretty amazing! And Krista Photography is a better business, a better place to work, and a better team because of her.

So, even though she already does so much around here, it’s time for her to get to do a little more!! Starting in 2013, Krista Photography will now offer weddings shot by CoCo Boardman, our first Associate Photographer!! She has the experience and the talent to shoot weddings of her own. And while I’ll miss having her with me at every wedding I shoot, I’m excited to see her grow as a photographer, and to give brides the opportunity to work with her!

So, if you haven’t met her yet, take a minute and get to know our new Associate, CoCo!
