Molly + Eli — Summer Engagement Session in Brookline

So, you may have noticed that most of the blog posts lately have been from CoCo… Man, she makes me look like a slacker! ;) Seriously, I’ve been sick almost all winter and haven’t made much time for blogging the last few months. I think it’s high time I get back to it!! What better way to start than with these love birds?!

I met up with Molly & Eli at their home in Brookline on a warm summer evening. We took a walk through their neighborhood to a local park and enjoyed a little time hanging out, climbing trees, and definitely laughing! Check out my favorites from our engagement shoot!

Lephan + Scotty — Providence, RI Engagement – xo, CoCo

I don’t think it’s possible to love a couple more than I love these two! Is that weird to say? I don’t care, I’m sticking with it! From the moment I spoke on the phone to Lephan, I knew we would be a perfect fit. MANY silly emails ensued in regards to her wedding, engagement session, and who KNOWS what else, and the rest is history. I met up with her and her handsome and adorable fiance Scotty in Providence while they were in town visiting for Christmas. Amazingly, we got some gorgeous light and weather, and had so.much.fun. We started out walking around DePasquale Square in Providence’s Federal Hill area, enjoy.

Aaaaand the laughing starts… I just LOVE her smile!

So dapper, no?!

Then, there was this amazing yellow wall in a weird alley, we took a chance and I LOVE it!

Then a quick jaunt over to College Hill, the streets are so beautiful!

I was taking the train home and about to miss it but just couldn’t resist this light!

Lephan you are just gorgeous!

Even if I did miss my train it would have been worth it! Lephan and Scotty I am so excited to see you again in November! Thank you for being so open and honest in front of the camera, however awkward you may think you are! ;) It was such a pleasure, you are the best! Christina + Preston — Boston Back Bay Engagement – xo, CoCo

I don’t know how it happened but we got the most perfect weather and light exactly when we needed it during Christina and Preston’s Engagement session. Not only did they meet for the first time at Back Bay Station, they actually got engaged there as well! This was obviously a special place for them and provided a really fun backdrop for me. We ran around the city, found some wonderful color and light, and I tried not to die of jealousy talking about Chicago with them, one of my favorite cities ever, and where they just happen to live! Enjoy!

Kate + Peter — Jamaica Pond Engagement Session – xo, CoCo

I met with Kate and Peter for the first time at one of my favorite coffee shops, Simon’s, in Cambridge. Not only were they excited for our meeting, which is always great, little did I know Peter had actually just proposed to Kate hours earlier! Now, these two had obviously been planning their wedding for months, and Kate knew they were going to get engaged very soon, but it was still so fun to see how excited they were and to see them basking in that just engaged glow. And I love that even though both Kate and Peter knew this was going down, Peter still pulled out all the stops and even got a small orchestra to play for Kate! So romantic! We got together for their engagement session not soon after at Jamaica Pond, and caught the very end of the beauty that is the Fall in New England. It was fabulous, though we couldn’t have pulled it off any later, it definitely got pretty chilly towards the end of the night!

Kate’s leopard booties are to die for, am I right?!

This is the spot that I believe was their very first date, years ago in feet of snow! I saw pictures, it was adorable…

Sarah + Mike — Corn Maze Engagement Session – xo, CoCo

Back in college, one of Sarah and Mike’s first meetings was at a corn maze, or a Maize Maze as we called them in Virginia, with a group of friends. It just sounds so perfect doesn’t it? Getting lost, making eyes at each other through the stalks, definitely sounds like a classic college love story to me :) So when Mike suggested and researched the heck out of Corn Mazes on the North Shore I thought it sounded like super fun idea. We ended up at Marini Farm in Ipswich, which was absolutely perfect. We more or less had the place to ourselves, it was late Fall and the light was INSANE. This definitely ended up being one of my favorites shoots of the year. These two are quiet, thoughtful, sweet and most of all FUN. Enjoy!

I could NOT resist the bouncing pillow outside the maze, all the little kids were bouncing around Mike trying to get a good bounce out of him, it was so fun!

I *think* these guys had fun too. :)

Lori + Jim — Cape Cod Engagement Portraits

We shot Lori & Jim’s engagement session on the Cape, on a cold blustery Spring day. We met up at her parents’ house and took a walk down to the beach. Of course, they had to bring along their dog, Kayla! I think she may have had the best time out of all of us! It always amazes me that dogs will run in the ocean, even when it’s FREEZING! Crazy little puppy! Look at her go!

After we warmed up in the house, we were ready for round two in the backyard – without coats even! How much do you love this back yard?!

Lori & Jim, thank you for making the trip up to the Cape for our shoot! It was fun hanging out with you guys and getting to know you a bit – cold or no! Hard to believe it was ever cold when your wedding day was so perfectly lovely… but more about that in the next few posts!

Ariel + Joshua — New Hampshire Summer Camp Engagement Portraits

Oh yeah, this was SUCH a great engagement session!!! I met up with Ari & Josh in New Hampshire at Camp Cody on Lake Ossipee, where they would hold their wedding a few months later. It was such a beautiful and FUN place to shoot! They brought their dog with them and we tromped all over the campground taking pictures, splashing in the water, jumping over logs, dancing in the woods, and leaping out of canoes. This may be my favorite engagement session ever :)

Then it was time for a little costume change and an all-wine picnic :)

Then it was time for our favorite part of the day! The part where they get in a canoe and recreate their engagement on Phewa Lake in Pokhara, Nepal… and then jump out of the canoe!

It’s not the Himalayas, but it will certainly do!

Get ready! We’re gonna do it!

Even the pup knew what to do :)

The poor dog was just panicking, wanting to be with them but having a hard time swimming for so long! He kept getting out, running back down the pier and jumping into the water again! He just loves them so much, he had to be with them!!

I’m surprised I didn’t see more of this dance move at their reception… ;)

Not a bad way to the end the day!

Meagan + Evan — Castle Island Sunrise Engagement – xo, CoCo

I know I know, WHAT was I thinking agreeing to a sunrise engagement session? But I mean come on, how could you refuse such a cute couple, and a girl who was so passionate about LIGHT?! (You see, Meagan goes running on Castle Island every morning before work and had fallen in love with the light and the view of her city she gets every morning). This girl is my dream come true! The best part is, in the days leading up to our shoot Meagan’s fiance Evan was trying to look at the weather and see which morning would have the best color, so he tweeted a meteorologist to get his opinion! How sweet is he?! Despite the early hour, this shoot went off without a hitch, the light was gorgeous, Castle Island and the city were still sleeping and we had the run of the place!

Caitlin + Chris — South End Engagement Session – xo, CoCo

I got together with Caitlin and Chris at their apartment in the South End. These two are complete goofballs and we had so much fun running around their fabulous neighborhood, and getting to know each other. We started off on their amazing roof deck with a sweet view!

And the laughing begins… :)

Of course we had to stop by The Buttery! Sadly it was closed….No treats for me :(

We found some gorgeous light and followed it all the way to the SOWA building down the street.

Pro tip: Make your clients bring a picnic table over to stand on so you can hit the right light! Good job guys, LOVE THIS!

Nichole + Steve — North End Engagement Session – xo, CoCo

Meet Nichole & Steve! How adorable are these two?! Nichole is a good friend of Krista’s, she is beautiful, talented, and her and Steve make such a fun couple. He kept her laughing while we chatted and walked around their date spot in the North End. It was a gorgeous night and I had so much fun getting to know these two. :) Now, feast your eyes on a selection of my favorites!
