Melissa, Shaun and I got together on a balmy and beautiful Summer evening at the Crane Estate in Ipswich, MA. It was warm and quiet and we had the place to ourselves, well aside from the mosquitoes… But these guys took in in stride, cuddled like there was no tomorrow, and would you just LOOK at how cute they are?!
Britney + Rob (and Isla!) – Endicott Park Engagement – xo, CoCo
Oh. My. Gosh. Have you SEEN a cuter family?! Didn’t think so. Rob, Britney, Isla and I got together on a crisp Fall day for their Endicott Park engagement that was a nice mix of smooches, cuddles, lots of laughs and Isla collecting sticks and being a complete silly goose.
Steffanie & Phil — Downtown Boston Engagement Session by CoCo
Steffanie, Phil and I met up in downtown Boston on a GORGEOUS night. They had a bit of a stressful drive getting in, (yay Boston traffic!) so I really just wanted to make them feel comfortable, even though getting followed around by a weirdo with a camera isn’t exactly everyone’s first idea for a relaxing evening. ;) So we walked, talked, they snuggled, I took some pictures and we really did have a great time getting to know each other. After all, that’s what engagement sessions are all about for us: Getting to know each other, getting you comfortable with the camera, and giving me time to figure out what makes you most comfortable, even if that means I have to crack some really lame jokes along the way…
Bonnie + Steve — Engagement Portrait Session
I had so much fun walking around Somerville with Bonnie & Steve during their engagement session! It was great to just get to know them both a little better, and enjoy their neighborhood. Engagement sessions are such a fun peek into my clients’ everyday lives – and I think that’s just as fun as being with them on the BIG days!
Home sweet home!
Becky + Mike — Harvard Square Engagement – xo, CoCo
Becky, Mike and I got a miraculously warm November day to wander around Harvard Square together. They had never spent much time there, but the light was beautiful and we had a great time discovering some characteristic little nooks and crannies for them to cuddle in. :) These two were so comfortable with each other, I felt like I barely had to work at all! In fact, it always amazes me, no matter how beautiful you think a person is on their own, something happens to them when they are with the one they love, a light inside makes them glow all over. The same is true for these two, not only are they both beautiful and interesting people in their own right, there is something about their energy together that is absolutely infectious, and infinitely better than their individual parts alone. You know, sometimes things just fall into place.
We started out in Harvard Yard.
We headed over to the river and they just HAD to stop and cuddle. ;)
I mean are these guys adorable or what?
We made our way through the dorms.
And finally out onto the Weeks Footbridge, with this BEAUTIFUL light, I was eating it up!
Nothing can beat that color!
Becky!!!!! You are just gorgeous.
Man, what a night! Becky and Mike, thank you for your beauty, inside and out! It was so much fun spending time with and photographing you, not to mention having a beer or two after! ;) Check out more on Facebook y’all!
Nora + Kevin — Coolidge Corner Engagement – xo, CoCo
This was one of those nights that didn’t go exactly to plan, but that turned out better than any of us could have planned! (And included way more beer than should have been allowed…)
When I think of Nora and Kevin the first word that comes to mind is genuine. That is exactly how they are: sweet, genuine, silly, sarcastic, wonderful people. We got along from the very start, and I love them because they were adventurous enough to 1) Suggest we shoot in their favorite bar, and thus be embarrassed to ever go back there again ;) and 2) Drink enough beer to survive shooting outside in the freezing cold because I wanted to experiment! So, while it wasn’t the original plan, we ended up hanging out at Otto Pizza in Coolidge Corner, then wandering around the theater across the street. It was great fun and these two faces make me so happy. (Side-note: I’m not the only one who was obsessed, there was a collective “Aaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww…” in the office for DAYS and these pictures circulated from Pam to Krista and I). See for yourself!
In my opinion, ALL engagement sessions should start with beer. :)
It was SUPER cold by this point in the night, but these two were such troopers! So we wandered over to the Coolidge Corner Theater, and I made them snuggle in an alleyway, so romantic right? ;)
My trusty assistant Pam helped me light the fire escape out behind the theater. How fun!
Then we walked a little more to get warmed up.
Can you even handle the cuteness?? I can’t wait to see these guys again at the Epicenter in June! Nora, thank you for rolling with the punches and being so lovely! Kevin thank you for being so late and “forcing” us to drink so much delicious beer, I could not be happier with the results! :) Find more on Facebook!
Ashley + Andrew — Paul Revere Park Engagement – xo, CoCo
I mean would you just LOOK at that face?! I’ll admit, this laugh was induced by the embarrassment of public kissing, but hey, gotta do what you gotta do! Ashley and Andrew were such fabulous company on this surprisingly warm Fall evening in Boston. They took me on a tour of their gorgeous Charlestown streets, showed me all their favorite little spots, and we even made our way over to the brand new Paul Revere Park under the Zakim Bridge. This night was, I daresay, TOO fun.
LOVE this!
I mean, how cool is this spot?!
Cuties… and gorgeous light to boot!
We strolled back over near their apartment and found this gorgeous ivy.
We had to get something in front of their adorable building!
They have a pretty sweet roof-deck too, with a killer view of the Bunker Hill monument, what a great spot!
That LIGHT! KILLING me.
Ash and Andrew thank you so much for taking me on such a fun adventure in your beautiful neighborhood! Check out more on Facebook y’all!
Ashley + Joe — Boston Winter Engagement Session
Joe & Ashley live in Chicago, and LOVE black & white photography… so they were already my favorites before we even met each other! When we did finally meet, it was for their wintery Boston engagement session – and they totally lived up to my expectations of awesomeness!
We started out with a drink at OAK Long Bar + Kitchen to get warmed up (both literally, and figuratively)…
Then we went for a little walk around Copley Square, in the cold… but they were able to keep each other both warm, and entertained :)
After we couldn’t feel our fingers and feet anymore, we hopped inside the Boston Public Library to warm up… and I swear, we TRIED to be quiet!
After we finally realized that they’d eventually kick us out for being so giggly… we went back out into the cold for a walk down Comm Ave!
I love those twinkly white lights!
Love these!
Once it got dark, and even colder, we hopped in to Papa Razzi for more drinks!
Love this!
Such a fun engagement session!! See, we don’t need sunshine and green grass to make some beautiful portraits – even in the cold Boston snow, we can have fun together and get some awesome photos!
Can’t wait to share more from Ashley & Joe’s killer wedding in my next post! Stay tuned!
(And if you seriously can’t wait, you can head over to their Facebook album and see it all there!)
Danielle + Jesse — Boston Public Garden Engagement – xo, CoCo
These two sweethearts met up with me on a quintessential Fall afternoon in the city, the light was golden and it was just warm enough to get by with a sweater and a snuggle. This sweet pair had actually never even been to the Public Gardens before, so it was really fun to wander around with them in this gorgeous space in the last light of day. I just can’t get enough of their sweet expressions, and joyful faces. And did I mention that light?!
You know I love people in trees… :)
Pink clouds, my fave!
We moseyed over to Comm Ave for a minute, and a snuggle.
I mean, seriously, how can they be so cute?! Love these two, find some more on Facebook if you do too!
Sharon + Marty — Good Harbor Beach Engagement – xo, CoCo
Oh, these two! Sharon came to me from a mutual friend, which is always exciting, we love our friends’ friends! I was so excited talking to her over the phone, she’s a graphic designer by trade, and a true firecracker. I had so much fun with her and her Marty on a lovely warm Summer evening at Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester. Enjoy!
Isn’t this dune grass gorgeous?!
Bahhhh! So cute!
It was such a beautiful night.
Marty, you crack me up!
Have you seen a happier couple?!
Oh my gosh, I LOVE these two! Sharon and Marty, thank you for coming up to Gloucester for the night, and most of all for being so wonderful! Stay tuned for their beautiful backyard wedding, and check out more on Facebook!
