Kate + Peter — Jamaica Pond Engagement Session – xo, CoCo

I met with Kate and Peter for the first time at one of my favorite coffee shops, Simon’s, in Cambridge. Not only were they excited for our meeting, which is always great, little did I know Peter had actually just proposed to Kate hours earlier! Now, these two had obviously been planning their wedding for months, and Kate knew they were going to get engaged very soon, but it was still so fun to see how excited they were and to see them basking in that just engaged glow. And I love that even though both Kate and Peter knew this was going down, Peter still pulled out all the stops and even got a small orchestra to play for Kate! So romantic! We got together for their engagement session not soon after at Jamaica Pond, and caught the very end of the beauty that is the Fall in New England. It was fabulous, though we couldn’t have pulled it off any later, it definitely got pretty chilly towards the end of the night!

This is the spot that I believe was their very first date, years ago in feet of snow! I saw pictures, it was adorable…

Sarah + Mike — Corn Maze Engagement Session – xo, CoCo

Back in college, one of Sarah and Mike’s first meetings was at a corn maze, or a Maize Maze as we called them in Virginia, with a group of friends. It just sounds so perfect doesn’t it? Getting lost, making eyes at each other through the stalks, definitely sounds like a classic college love story to me :) So when Mike suggested and researched the heck out of Corn Mazes on the North Shore I thought it sounded like super fun idea. We ended up at Marini Farm in Ipswich, which was absolutely perfect. We more or less had the place to ourselves, it was late Fall and the light was INSANE. This definitely ended up being one of my favorites shoots of the year. These two are quiet, thoughtful, sweet and most of all FUN. Enjoy!

I could NOT resist the bouncing pillow outside the maze, all the little kids were bouncing around Mike trying to get a good bounce out of him, it was so fun!

I *think* these guys had fun too. :)

Henia + Jay — Intimate Davio’s Boston Restaurant Wedding – xo, CoCo

Meet the two cutest people in the whole world, Henia and Jay. These two are so adorably in love I can’t even take it! It was such a pleasure spending the day with these two, Henia’s beautiful daughters and their closest friends and family. Their day was low-key, intimate, emotional, and exciting all rolled into one! We started out at Henia and Jay’s home in Andover, and caught some beautiful late Fall light.

Of course we had to snag some portraits with their adorable dogs!

Their ceremony space was just outside Davio’s in downtown Boston, it was a cool set up.

Jay’s father’s speech was so sweet, his parent’s seemed so proud!

Fall Mini-Portrait Session Fundraiser

Back in the fall, Krista was anxiously preparing for her journey to Nepal to work on a documentary film with Code Red Films and eager to get some portraits done before her trip. She decided to hold a fundraising mini-portrait marathon one October weekend to assist in the costs associated with her (not-for-profit) trip. After scouting beautiful trees and parks for weeks we finally decided to stage the event next door! With a little help from Russell Farms (who so graciously lent us hay stacks and pumpkins for the day), and Krista’s awesome neighbors, it could not have looked better!

There are SO many sweet families, I will *try* and let the pictures do most of the talking. :)

I love how this little crew of friends just fits together!

This little football player (oh how his dad would DIE – in a good way! – if that were to come true someday!) is a friend of mine. :) His mama and I met almost five years ago when we were both struggling with brand new little babes!

This little man is Dylan. Based on his genes, it is very likely that he will be a marathon runner by the time he is out of high school! Both of his parents can RUN.

Baby Bobby – Six Month Session

Suzanne’s sister bought this session as a baby shower gift before Bobby was even born. Can you think of a better gift than that?! (Me, neither) :)

Krista’s yard is full of colorful trees throughout autumn, making it a perfect location for portraits during the fall. I dare you not to smile as you check out Baby Bobby’s six month shoot. Double dare you.

Faith & Ryan’s Rockport Engagement Session

I’ve known Faith since she joined my small group at our church in Chicago, back in 2004! We became good friends, and I was sad to see her go when she moved to Boston a year or so later. As it turned out, God had plans for me in Boston as well, and I moved her just a year after Faith. And wouldn’t you know it? My first roommate here hosted a small group at our house on Friday nights and who was in it, but Faith?! It’s funny how things work out that way :)

Flash forward a few years, and here I am in Rockport, photographing Faith and her fiance Ryan for their engagement session! I’m so happy that Faith has found the love of her life, and I cannot wait to shoot their wedding in a couple of weeks!!! Until then though, here are a few of my favorites from their engagement session…

It was a chilly day, but they were brave and climbed out on the rocks for me!

Lindsey’s Maternity Portraits

My dear friend Lindsey just had a baby the other day – her first child, a son named Jude! He’s so precious and I’ll definitely be sharing many photos of him in the coming weeks, and months, and years, I’m sure :) But before we get there, we have to go back a few weeks to when there were still leaves on the tress and pumpkins laying around – and little Jude was still a mysterious baby growing inside Lindsey’s belly! I spent a morning with David & Lindsey capturing the last portraits of the two of them before their family officially became three!

This is one beautiful pregnant lady :)

I love how David always knows how to make Lindsey laugh!

I **LOVE** this one!!!! That’s one happy Daddy!

Another favorite!

There’s nothing quite as amazing to me as a pregnant belly! There was a tiny little human growing in there – that’s pretty incredible!

David & Lindsey – I love you guys!!! Thanks for letting me share in this wonderful part of your life! I’m very very excited to be baby Jude’s one and only Kiki! :)

Annika’s Portrait Session

With weddings, I always do an engagement session with my couples. For my Bar/Bat Mitzvah clients, I like to do a family portrait session. It is such an awesome part of the process for me. I love spending time the families and getting to know them all a little better before the event. Just like with the eSessions, these family portraits can help everyone know what to expect and feel more comfortable in front of the camera on the big day. They are so helpful that I make them a required part of every package!

Unfortunately, Annika’s family wasn’t able to do the portrait session before her Bat Mitzvah because of a family emergency. Since they’re a “requirement” we decided to do them after the fact :) So a few weeks after the party, I visited them down in Newton and we captured a few portraits by the pond near their house.

They have this fun little booth in their basement. The whole area is decorated in Coca-Cola paraphanalia – I knew I liked these people!! (in case you’ve never met me, when you do, I’ll probably have a Coke in my hand…)

A teenage girl’s bedroom is her solace, such an extension of herself – it can say so much about who she is. I thought it’d make a great spot for a few more natural shots of Annika…

Joe & Amanada’s Anniversary Portraits

Joe called me a couple of months ago with the idea to surprise his lovely wife, Amanda, with a photo shoot for their 5th anniversary. I thought that was flippin’ brilliant! You know what that tells me about Joe? It tells me he thinks his wife is just as beautiful as the day they got married, if not more. It tells me he really wants to make her feel special. And it tells me that he cherishes her as his wife as much as the mother of his children. I mean, how often do people get married, have kids, and never have another photo taken of just the two of them? Kids come along and suddenly, a lot of people forget that they’re still a couple. You know? So, anyway, I thought this was a great idea and I was really excited to help him surprise Amanda with a photo shoot downtown!

We met up at Christopher Columbus Park…

I love this one! It’s so sweet :)

And finally we finished off the shoot over at Faneuil Hall. I’m thinking one of these days, I’ll have to do a photo shoot where we just walk to the whole Freedom Trail. I mean, we hit a lot of it this day, but that’d be kinda cool… Any takers?

Joe & Amanda, it was so great to meet you both! I’m glad I could help you with the surprise – and Amanda, I hope you had a great time and felt really special! Congratulations on five wonderful years together!!!
