It really is such a treat getting to photograph a family over the years! CoCo originally photographed Kate & Peter’s wedding at the Harvard Faculty Club back in 2014. And then they moved to Indianapolis. When I went back home to Indy last summer, I had the opportunity to see them and photograph their new baby, Madeline! And this year, on my annual pilgrimage back to Indiana, I got to see them again!! Madeline has gotten so big, and if you can believe it, even cuter!! Check out my favorites from our portrait session!

Back from Vacation!
Well, I have finally returned from my road trip to the Midwest! It was a very fun vacation, with a little work thrown in to the mix! Here’s a quick recap…
Drove with my sister & her 3 kids (ages 3-7) from Boston to Niagara Falls.
Came down with bronchitis.
Visited my old synchronized swimming coach who was coaching at Nationals nearby. The only other times I’ve been to Niagara Falls is when I’ve been to synchro meets! (yes, I was a synchronized swimmer & coach for 15 years!)
Visited Niagara Falls and went on the Maid of the Mist for the first time! Very cool – and very wet!!
Drove with Kyla & the kids from Niagara Falls to Columbus, OH.
are we there yet? are we there yet?
Visited lots of Kyla’s friends in Columbus, ate lots of Graeter’s Ice Cream. yum!
Drove with Kyla & the kids from Columbus to Mom & Dad’s house in Indianapolis.
cough. cough. nap. cough. whine.
Fireworks on the White River for Independence Day!
Watched a lot of the Tour de France with my Dad.
Visited with some old college friends & their babies.
Pool party. boat rides. playground. Did I mention bronchitis? doctor’s office. sprinkler park. water park.
Brother-in-law arrived. Kids excited because “now we’re a family!”
Drove with the whole fam up to Monticello, IN for Guenin Family Vacation 2010! 25 of my favorite Guenins vacationing it up for 3 glorious days :) Lots of baseball and swimming in the pool, and Euchre, and food, and more boat rides!
Visited a dairy farm. Almost saw a cow give birth. scarred for life.
Drove all by my lonesome to Chicago.
Ate at some of my favorite restaurants with some of my favorite girls!
Photo shoot. Photo shoot.
Drive back to Indy.
Nephew’s 7th Birthday extravaganza! Star Wars. Toy Story 3. repeat.
Got caught on the boat in the POURING rain.
Photo shoot.
Drove solo from Indy to Columbus to Rochester, NY to Woburn, MA.
sigh.
It sure was FUN! And super exhausting ;) I would share more photos, but I think my clients need me to get back to work after all this time off! Back to editing I go… :)

Susan & Ethan’s Family Portraits – Indianapolis, IN
Ten years ago, I had just graduated from Butler University and was living in Indianapolis with my friend Susan. I was also working in a psychiatric clinic at a children’s hospital with kids with autism and OCD, but that was in another life… Anyway, it was a bit surreal to meet Susan and her husband and three beautiful children back on campus at Holcomb Gardens this summer for some family photos! We had a blast hanging out though, and I was totally excited to meet baby Lily for the first time!
This is my boy, Jack. We’re totally buds…
Wherever the big brother goes, the little brother will follow…
Ethan and Sam
Susan and Lily
Ugh! Those lips and those eyes!!! And the chubs – I just want to squeeze her!!!!
The whole family. I can’t tell you how many shots it took to get this one where they’re all looking and smiling!!
Sammy and Grandma
haha! What’s wrong Sam?
I LOVE this shot of Jack blowing bubbles!!
Near the end of the session, Sue busted out this gorgeous pink tutu for Lily!!! It was FABULOUS!
This is my FAVORITE!!!
Lily didn’t really want to pose for us…
Momma makes it all better though :)
We even caught a few shots of Sue and Ethan as a couple. Too many people get married, have kids and never seem to get their photo taken as a couple anymore!
And, of course, I have to share a compilation of some of my favorite Jack faces :)
Sue – it was SO great to see you guys!! Thank you for a fun afternoon, and for a delicious dinner. Your family is so delightful, and just insanely cute! I just love that we’re connected again and I get to see your little family grow :)

Kristopher & Erin’s eSession
The weather didn’t really cooperate with us while we tried to combine a family gathering and an engagement session into one afternoon. So we stayed close to home and basically shot everything in my parents’ neighborhood. It turned out to be a pretty cool spot, and even though we were all FREEZING, we had a fun time!
Kris is a bit of a joker. Ok, that’s an understatement. He’s frikkin’ hilarious and always making me laugh! It was cool for me to see him with Erin – to see how funny they are together and how much they enjoy each other, and that she always laughs at his jokes ;)
This is totally my favorite! I love it when you can see people smiling even when they’re kissing :)
Per my Mom’s request, we shot a few photos by the berries ;)
I love to photograph people’s hands!
I also kinda like to photograph feet… is that weird?
They’re cute
Ok, so Erin’s pretty funny in her own way ;) You’ve got to love a girl who will pretend to pick her nose for a funny photo!
Maybe this one is my favorite?
I love the way she’s looking up at him!
more laughter…
And I think this is the perfect way to finish :)
Kris & Erin – I love you guys! I’m so looking forward to your wedding this summer!! :D
Susan’s Maternity Photos – Indianapolis, IN
Now on to the part you all really care about, the photos ;)
Sue was always beautiful, but there’s something about being pregnant that makes a woman radiant!
Haha! I must be hilarious ;) Actually, no, she’s the hilarious one… I think she’s laughing at her own impression of a model here.
Using a little of that natural light
See what I mean? Gorgeous!!
Susan’s 2 little boys wanted in on the fun, and desperately wanted to see what Mommy was looking at out the window…
So, we thought we’d add them into the shoot! This is Sam, he’s adorable.
And this is Jack, he’s rather hilarious.
You can tell these boys love their Mommy!
Sue – it was SO fabulous to see you and meet your lovely family! I’m glad we got to spend some time together and catch up after all these years. It’s so great to know that we’ll be able to stay in touch pretty much forever now, thanks to modern technology ;) Congratulations on the birth of baby Lily! I can’t wait to meet her next time I’m home!!! LOVE YOU!!
Oh, and for those of you on Facebook – you can become a Fan of Krista Photography here. If we actually know each other – add me as a friend already! If we’ve never met, introduce yourself and maybe we’ll become friends :) I won’t add anyone I don’t know since I actually use FB to post family photos and such, but I am always happy to make new friends in real life!!
Out of The Office
And because posts without pictures or something are dull. I present to you the best song about Indianapolis, ever ….
bye bye :)
Coming to Indianapolis!
Here’s a shot from our very first Guenin Family Vacation, back in 2001 – this time in Michigan. My how our little clan has grown! (Don’t you just love the rainbow of matching custom t-shirts?!)
After a long weekend in Wisconsin, we’ll be driving back down to Indianapolis for a few days back home. I’m hoping to see some old friends, enjoy some more time with the fam, and hang out on my parents’ boat & SeaDoo! Plus, I’m planning on shooting at least one portrait session while I’m in town. I figure, as long as I’m shooting one, I might as well see if anyone else is interested….
If you’d like to schedule a portrait session, let me know!! Engagement, post-wedding, pregnancy, baby, kids, or family sessions are available starting at $300. Drop me a line if you’d like to set up a time for the week of July 14th…
