Once or twice a year, I offer Portrait Mini Sessions for those families who want updated portraits, but perhaps don’t have the time or the budget for a full session. I keep them limited to clients and friends I’ve worked with before, who have a good understanding of my style. It makes these quick 15 minute sessions go so much smoother when we already have a relationship! This year, we wanted some pretty Spring colors, so we ended up shooting in the old cemetery at Lake Quannapowitt, in Wakefield MA. It was BEAUTIFUL!
Baby Cameron — Maternity Session
Meet Christina and Terry. They were so excited for the arrival of their first baby, they decided to do a Year-In-The-Life portrait series! So Krista met them last year at the Crane Estate for some maternity pictures just before Baby Cameron’s arrival… Get a load of all this cuteness.
Such a beautiful mama-to-be!
Seriously, how cute are these two?
Hmmm, wonder who the “boss” is…. :)
Comparing baby bellies! Love it!
If you think these two are adorable (how could you not?), just wait until you meet Cameron! His lips are truly to die for! :)
Baby Judah – Maternity Shoot
Krista always loves to shoot her brides again, especially when they are also her very good friends! And double especially when her good friends/former wedding client’s are expecting a new baby! And I can’t think of a more perfect family to feature as we head into Mother’s Day weekend! You’ll probably remember Suze and Jeremy from their winter wedding one year ago. Well, they recently welcomed Baby Judah into the world. They asked Krista to stop by their home before Judah’s arrival to capture the glowing mama-to-be’s pregnant belly. And, of course, we’ll be sharing pictures of the little man himself in an upcoming post!
I am especially loving the beautiful canvas hanging behind them in this first picture! :)
Poor Kayak! She has no idea just how much life is going to be changing! Isn’t she a beautiful dog?
Are you noticing a consistency in Suze and Jeremy’s color palette?? I think they like the color orange (and, for the record, so do I!). :)
LOVE that Suze wore the shawl from her wedding for some shots of her beautiful belly!
Suze, we wish you the most wonderful first Mother’s Day!! Come back again Monday to meet Baby Judah!
Lindsey’s Maternity Portraits
My dear friend Lindsey just had a baby the other day – her first child, a son named Jude! He’s so precious and I’ll definitely be sharing many photos of him in the coming weeks, and months, and years, I’m sure :) But before we get there, we have to go back a few weeks to when there were still leaves on the tress and pumpkins laying around – and little Jude was still a mysterious baby growing inside Lindsey’s belly! I spent a morning with David & Lindsey capturing the last portraits of the two of them before their family officially became three!
This is one beautiful pregnant lady :)
I love how David always knows how to make Lindsey laugh!
I **LOVE** this one!!!! That’s one happy Daddy!
Another favorite!
There’s nothing quite as amazing to me as a pregnant belly! There was a tiny little human growing in there – that’s pretty incredible!
David & Lindsey – I love you guys!!! Thanks for letting me share in this wonderful part of your life! I’m very very excited to be baby Jude’s one and only Kiki! :)

Eileen’s Maternity Portraits – Melrose, MA
A few weeks ago, back when beautiful leaves were still on the trees and not decaying in my backyard, I met up with Eileen and Fabio at Mt. Hood Park for some maternity photos. They’ve commissioned me to document the first year of their first baby’s life, starting with pregnancy! Year-In-The-Life Portraits are so fun because I actually get to watch and document the baby grow and change over the course of time. It’s quite an honor to be invited into such an intimate part of people’s lives!
Eileen & Fabio – it was so great to meet you and spend some time with you! I’m really looking forward to getting to you and your new baby over the course of the next year. Let me know when that little one arrives and is ready for some photos!

A Year in the Life – Gretchen’s Maternity Session
One of my favorite things in this business is when I have the opportunity to document not just the first day in the life of a new family, but also as it begins to grow! Gretchen & Justin pretty much got pregnant the minute they got married ;) and now I get to photograph a Year-in-the-Life of their first child!! I’m so excited to watch this little cutie grow up!
The first session in a Year-in-the-Life Package is usually a maternity session. The maternity session is a chance to document the beauty and craziness that is pregnancy. I think pregnant women are so lovely! I hear so many women talk about how they feel fat and gross when they’re pregnant, but honestly, I think they are amazing and beautiful. I mean, there’s a teeny tiny human being growing and living INSIDE of them! That’s AMAZING! The first time my sister was pregnant, we would just sit around staring at her belly exclaiming in wonder, “there’s a PERSON in there!!” Come on, it’s a wondrous miracle!!! As you can tell, I’m fascinated by the whole thing and I LOVE to take maternity photos, when moms will let me :) I’m so glad Gretchen is such a good sport!
Comparing “Buddha bellies”
Gretchen, thank you so much for stepping out in front of the camera, and Justin thanks for playing along! I love you guys!
Susan’s Maternity Photos – Indianapolis, IN
Now on to the part you all really care about, the photos ;)
Sue was always beautiful, but there’s something about being pregnant that makes a woman radiant!
Haha! I must be hilarious ;) Actually, no, she’s the hilarious one… I think she’s laughing at her own impression of a model here.
Using a little of that natural light
See what I mean? Gorgeous!!
Susan’s 2 little boys wanted in on the fun, and desperately wanted to see what Mommy was looking at out the window…
So, we thought we’d add them into the shoot! This is Sam, he’s adorable.
And this is Jack, he’s rather hilarious.
You can tell these boys love their Mommy!
Sue – it was SO fabulous to see you and meet your lovely family! I’m glad we got to spend some time together and catch up after all these years. It’s so great to know that we’ll be able to stay in touch pretty much forever now, thanks to modern technology ;) Congratulations on the birth of baby Lily! I can’t wait to meet her next time I’m home!!! LOVE YOU!!
Oh, and for those of you on Facebook – you can become a Fan of Krista Photography here. If we actually know each other – add me as a friend already! If we’ve never met, introduce yourself and maybe we’ll become friends :) I won’t add anyone I don’t know since I actually use FB to post family photos and such, but I am always happy to make new friends in real life!!
Rhetta, Bill & Hannah – black & white film :)
Rhetta, Bill & Hannah – a blast from the past!
Hannah
There are those leaves I was talking about…
I just love the look on Hannah’s face! And apparently rubbing her earlobe is Hannah’s thing. I love it when I can catch a kid being completely themselves – doing that thing that makes them, them.
Rhetta & Bill are so cute – just as in love as the last time I saw them!
A few photos of Rhetta and her belly… Isn’t she gorgeous!
I love this one of Rhetta & Bill because as I was taking their picture Hannah said or did something cute and they both turned to look. I love their smiles as they watch their little girl.
Are you kidding me with that adorable grin?!
Hannah wanted me to smell the pretty flower :)
There she goes with that ear again :)
A few fun shots of Hannah and her Dad
And now, just for fun, a few photos from Bill & Rhetta’s wedding! It’s still one of my favorites from the Real Life Weddings days. And yes, this wedding was shot almost entirely in black & white film!!

Rhetta & Bill, it was SO great to see you again! Hannah is a doll and I can’t wait to meet little Sophie Grace!!
